The Account Executive works with the client service team to manage all marketing communications projects for assigned clients. Involved from new business meetings and pitches through project completion, the account executive is responsible for initiating proposals and project plans, then guiding the project through development and creative execution. The AE is the liaison between the client and the agency design and strategy teams. An effective problem-solver on a day-to-day basis, the AE must be adept at anticipating problems and recognizing opportunities.

The AE requires superior project management skills. S/he must be a conscientious team player and a good organizer. This person also demonstrates excellent verbal and written communications skills. The AE is a creative problem solver, exhibiting initiative and a take-charge attitude.

Responsibilities:

  • Acts as the primary client contact for assigned projects, developing relationships with clients and working closely with them to learn their business and communication needs.

  • Works closely with all agency department staff to develop and implement strategic project plans.

  • Coordinates project timing and budgets with all relevant agency personnel.

  • Provides creative, production, media, public relations and interactive department personnel with well-documented input, support data, and production materials as required; ensures that advertising strategies are clearly defined, approved by clients, and understood by the creative and media groups.

  • Implementation, execution, and maintenance of project schedules that identify key milestones, project dependencies, and project resources required to bring programs to life on time and on (or under) budget.

  • Manage internal and external creative resources and vendors.

  • Oversee day-to-day internal communications regarding project status and communicate to internal stakeholders as necessary.

  • Assist in developing and managing project estimates and job costing.

  • Establish and maintain freelance, agency, and other vendor resource relationships for utilization in project needs and completion.

  • Oversee production of print and web as necessary.

  • Handles monthly billing and reconciliation of all projects for assigned clients; maintains ongoing accounting status reports for clients for budget updates. Assists in preparation of client invoices.

  • Maintains working knowledge of pertinent software and peripherals needed to complete work.

  • Inspects cost estimates, as researched and presented by the vendors for equipment service contracts, maintenance agreements, and leases.

  • Manage and approve print production schedules, specifications, and internal budgets requested by project managers/partners.

  • Oversee bid requests, customer quotes/SOWs, and POs for vendors.

  • Manage vendor list for quality and effectiveness.

  • Reviews all accounting-related computer purchases, copier/printer/scanner supplies, office supplies, maintenance, and operations.

Requirements:

  • Previous agency experience in account management, trafficking, production or creative roles.

  • An independent thinker, driven, energetic, and enthusiastic. You are a team player who takes initiative.

  • Have an established track record for overseeing and delivering multiple projects to perfection simultaneously.

  • Must have a solid understanding of the creative design and development process and materials trafficking process.

  • Requires knowledge of project management tools/methodologies. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a variety of people: creative, production, management, and marketing and traditional advertising groups required. Knowledge of ClickUp and Basecamp is a plus.

  • A proven ability to set clear goals and objectives and prioritize, multitask, and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fun, fast-paced environment.

  • Have an understanding of marketing fundamentals, including strategy, advertising basics and media terms, brand positioning, and identity. You love the internet and emerging web-based technologies.

  • Know the production process for a wide range of printed, digital, and experiential marketing materials such as collateral, packaging, signage, etc.

  • Can liaise efficiently with outside vendors for pre- and post-production including vetting, cost-effective quoting, buying, and proofing all work.

  • Are extremely organized and willing to implement down to the smallest detail; a dedication to see projects through to completion.

  • Are proud of and prepared to show examples of projects and/or previous work you’ve done.

  • Believe there is always a solution.

  • Diligent and meticulous with a fixation on detail.

  • A highly effective communicator with excellent writing, listening, and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong internet and Apple computer skills with a comfort and familiarity of working and operating in today’s cloud environment.

  • Ability to work both collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and independently, with high levels of detail.

  • Have 3+ years of experience servicing clients as part of an agency, or equivalent experience servicing internal clients on the creative side.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business or related field preferred.
